(Matthew 19:16-17)

*Why callest thou me
good? Or in modern English '' why do you call me good ''we
Would not
find this wording and meaning in some Bible! This text is found in king
JamesVersion. Don`t take my word for it! Chick your Bible!
/>Okay..l did..and this is what l discovered:

Simply enough
based on the verse, Christ often incited people to think for
themselves…to question a turn of phrase…often the answer was in the
question.

16And, behold, one came and said unto him, Good
Master, what good thing shall l do, that l may have eternal life? />
17And he said unto him, Why callest thou me good? there is none
good but one, that is, God: but if thou wilt enter into life, keep the
commandments.

Several questions can be asked about the
above verses. Some of the more intuitive ones are:''why do you call me
good?'' why did Jesus question his own goodness?

Jesus didn’t
question his own goodness…he asked the man a question…WHY DO YOU CALL
ME GOOD? Only God is good. Are you calling me God essentially is what was
being asked.

Jesus emphatically stated that ''there is none
good but one, that is, God''
Why did he refer to the one God as the
'' good'' one only?
Why did he exclude himself from being good, if he
were God?
Jesus explicitly pointed out that '' if thou wilt enter into
life, keep the commandments.''
Why didn`t Jesus command the questioner
to believe in him (Jesus) as God in order
To enter into eternal life?
God had already commanded people to worship Him as God in the Mosaic laws.

Based on Jesus` testimony, Isn`t keeping the commandments enough for
getting
Eternal life? Yes, if you were able to keep them all
PERFECTLY without sin throughout the entirety of ones life..yet, all have
sinned..all fall short.
Now, let us re-read verses of Matthew
(19:16-17) as stated in King James
Version and the same verses as
reported in the New International Version
Of the HOLY BIBLE. />One came and said unto . him, Good Master, what good
Thing shall l
do. That l may have eternal life? And he
Said unto him, why callest
thou me good? There is none good
But one, that is, God.
(in
king James version)
.Now a man came up to Jesus and asked ''Teacher,
what
good thing must l do to get eternal life?''
''why do you
ask me about what is good?'' Jesus replied.
''there is only one who
is good. If you wanna enter life,
obey the commandments.''
(in
the new international version) .
To make is easy to compare, here
are Jesus` two different questions:
According to King James version
(KJV), in simple English, Jesus asked:
*Why do you CALL ME GOOD?/>But, according to the New International Version (NIV), Jesus said:/>*Why do you ASK ME ABOUT WHAT IS GOOD?
Please honestly camper
between Jesus` question in the King James Version and
His questions
in the New International Version. Do they have the same
Meaning? Can
they both be correct?

They are not both correct translations at
all…The NIV is fraught with error. The KJV is the closest translation of
the Bible rendered after all forms of original scripture and
documentation. l have more on this if you are curious.

Going
back to the critical question, Is Jesus God?, l think that if Jesus/>Were God or part of God, his logical response would be to approve of
what the
Questioner called him (i.e., ''Good Master'').
Sound
reasoning and plain logic tell us that God is good. And if Jesus were/>God or part of God (part of the Trinity) he MUST BE GOOD! Don`t
you
agree?

The point in the exchange between Jesus and the Man was
not to assert Himself but to point to the need for confession. A believer
must confess that Jesus Christ is Lord….or better translated that Yeshua
Messiah is Jehovah.
Presumably, some of the possible, expected
response that Jesus cold utter in response
To the young man saying
''Good Master'' include:

#''certainly, l am good, for l
am god.'' It wasn’t for Jesus to declare Himself a god to any one
person. We choose who our god is. Jesus is my God. His divinity is a given
whether confessed by me or not,us our not..all we do when we confess Him as
our God is receive Him.
#''you are right. l am good'' Jesus never
refuted His goodness…He simply asked why the man said that He was good.

#or at least, knowing that he was obviously good, being God or a
manifestation of
God, Jesus could have answered the young man without
taking issue (He didn’t ake issue…He asked a question of the man )with
his words by saying:
*''if thou wilt enter into life, keep the
commandment'' But, astonishingly, Jesus responded to the young man`s words
''Good Master'' With something unexpected! He denied that he was good,
wondering, ''why do you call Me good?'' He never denied he was
good…where do you see this? So, instead of denying his goodness,
wouldn`t it have been more reasonable for Jesus to seize this occasion and
acknowledge that he was good, since he was God or A manifestation of the
one God, if such were the case? Why would he refer to the true God Alone,
and not reveal his own `good` divinity?

There is no
distinction…Jesus’ goodness is God’s goodness…they are one in the
same…what is your definition of God? Perhaps that should be questioned.
There cannot be two Gods. Two different beings available for worship. God
is Jehovah the self existent ONE…Jesus is Jehovah, The Father is
Jehovah, The Holy Spirit is Jehovah…not God in three persons as
expressed in the Trinity but One True God in a Godhead Family

13Who hath delivered us from the power of darkness, and hath translated us
into the kingdom of his dear Son:
14In whom we have redemption
through his blood, even the forgiveness of sins:
15Who is the image
of the invisible God, the firstborn(prototokos meaning pre-iminant one)of
every creature:
16For by him were all things created, that are in
heaven, and that are in earth, visible and invisible, whether they be
thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or powers: all things were
created by him, and for him.

Was he hiding the truth about
himself from the questioner?

He was not hiding the
truth…Jesus imparted the truth to someone who was so mired in his own
righteousness “who kept the commandments since youth” that inwardly
knowing this alone could not save him because no one could keep all the
commandments always since youth, He directed him to think. What could save
him, the rich man? Confessing Jesus is God and giving up all He had to
follow Him. The man was not reached by Jesus’ words. He could have
responded in ways that you suggested but that was not the demeanour
ofJesus, that was not how He taught as shown consistently through
scripture and for good reason. Why should that man have the blessing of
testimony from the mouth of God without the benefit of faith if faith is
required first from every other person?

Now this is life
eternal, that they know you, the ONLY
True God, and Jesus Christ, whom
you have sent.
(john 17:3)

Lets put this scripture back
into context shall we:

John 17
1These words spake Jesus,
and lifted up his eyes to heaven, and said, Father, the hour is come;
glorify thy Son, that thy Son also may glorify thee:

2As thou
hast given him power over all flesh, that he should give eternal life to as
many as thou hast given him.

3And this is life eternal, that
they might know thee the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom thou hast
sent.

4l have glorified thee on the earth: l have finished
the work which thou gavest me to do.

5And now, O Father,
glorify thou me with thine own self with the glory which l had with thee
before the world was.

This verse truly encompasses the role of
Jesus on this earth. He came by His and His Father’s will, bridged the
gap between man and Godas a man and as God (Mediator) and didn’t exalt
Himself ABOVE God but humbled Himself stepping down as one of us to live,
die and then be raised for us. So yes, Jesus (Yeshua) is the Christ
(Messiah) but he is also (Jehovah..the self existent one).
/>Just as when you have a child your child will be human…as God the
Father has His only Begotten Son (we must look to scripture to define
scripture Isaiah 45:10
Woe to him who says to his father, 'What have
you begotten?' or to his mother, 'What have you brought to birth?' then
see JOHN 3:!6.

In this verse, Jesus again distinguishes
himself from the ONLY true God! It is this true God who created(He does
not use the term created anywhere?) and sent Jesus. So, who has the full
authority to command and send? The ONLY
true God or Jesus? Who is
greater, the one who orders and sends or the one who is
ordered and
sent?

Where there is the same “will” there is no need for
authority. God the Father and God the Son have the same “will”.They
continue to exalt and glorify one another throughout scripture and never
exalt themselves.
.There is one God and one mediator between God/>And men, the man Christ Jesus.
(1 Timothy 2:4)
This verse
points to two identities:
(1) one God, and (2) one mediator (Jesus)!
Jesus is described as '' the man''
the verse did not call him '' the
God Christ Jesus '' in fact, nowhere in the Bible is Jesus called God!!.

Jesus on earth as a man was not God…He had humbled
Himself from His rightful place to be here for us and to die for us. He
was sent by the Father only after He stepped forward to be sent
/>Isaiah 6

8Also l heard the voice of the Lord, saying, Whom
shall l send, and who will go for us? Then said I, Here am I; send me. />

To further discuss and answer the question, Is Jesus God or
part of God?, let us
Carefully, critically, and objectively read the
following parts of verses reported in Matthew 4:1-10
* Then Jesus was
led by the spirit into the desert to be tempted by the devil.
* After
fasting forty days and forty night, he was hungry.
* Again, the devil
took him to a very high mountain and showed him all
The kingdoms of
the world and their splendor.
* He (the devil) said to him ( Jesus),
''All these l will give you, if you will
Fall down and worship me''.

Let me share with you some of the questions and thoughts that stroke
my mind
After reading the above verses:
1) The Bible says, ''
Jesus was led by the spirit into the desert…'' l wonder who has/>more authority and more power, Jesus or the spirit? Why didn`t Jesus
lead himself
to the desert if he were God? Does God need someone to
lead him?
2) Based on the testimony of the above verses, the devil
(Satan) tempted Jesus
who is considered to be God by some Christians.
The simple and logical question
that could be raised is: Can God be
tempted?
The same Bible tells us that God can`t be tempted! This fact
is uttered by Jesus, in the same story. Of temptation. Similarly, James,
the brother of Jesus,Said:
Did these verses trigger any questions or
thoughts in you mind?
*'' God cannot be tempted by evil, and he
himself tempts no one.
(James 1:13) God is not the tempter but we
can be presented to the “tempter” for testing as was with Job and many
others in the Bible. After all, temptation is not the sin is it? Jesus on
earth was not God but a man in the flesh embodied with the Holy
Spirit…as is all who accept Christ as their savior are blessed with the
Holy Spirit.
3) The Bible reports that ''after fasting forty days
and forty nights, he (Jesus) was
hungry'' analyzing this verse, let`s
reason together:
Does God fast? Jesus in everyway came to earth and
set us an example of how to worship and comport ourselves. He had all of
our propensity for weakness, hunger, appetites, thirst, he bled, felt
pain, had desires, humour, profound sadness, he became overwhelmed, he had
fear, anxiety, loneliness, anger, rage, disdain
To whom was Jesus
fasting? To himself as God or to someone who
is greater than him?/>> Does God feel hungry or thirsty?
4) in the story of `the
temptation of Jesus` (you find this heading in several Bible)
we came
to discover that the devil (Satan) moved and controlled Jesus! Did Satan/>do that with Jesus the man or Jesus the God? If Satan did that with Jesus
the man, what is the point? And if the devil did that with Jesus the God,
can God be tried, moved, and controlled? (As a man, as we are…to
overcome…yes)
Let`s remember James` word, ''God cannot be tempted
by evil..''
At the end of the dialogue between Jesus and Satan and
after Satan asked Jesus to
''fall down and worship'' him, Jesus said
to the devil:
*worship the Lord your God, and serve Him only''/>(Matthew 4''10)
l assume. If Jesus were God incarnate, he might
have easily responded, '' no Satan, it is you who must fall down and
worship me, your God!'' but instead he invoked the above scripture about
worshipping the true God ONLY. Jesus was not here for Himself, He was here
for us, to give Glory and Honor to His Father. He was not going about to
pull the very thing that Satan pulled which was to demand worship of
Himself…Instead He remained in His humility for our sakes
/>Jesus invoked the WORD of GOD to rebuke the “devil” or Satan. To
overcome temptation…man cannot live by bread alone but only by the word
of God, Our Daily bread, the bread of life, do we then have
life…Scripture is the Body of Christ, He
On the other hand, we
learned from the story that:
Satan SAW Jesus.
Satan SAID TO
Jesus.
Satan HEARD Jesus.
Satan TOOK Jesus.
Satan
SHOWED Jesus.
Satan SPOKE WITH Jesus.

Yet Satan,
seeing, speaking to, hearing, showing and taking this man from place to
place still had not the “authority” to even know to whom he was
speaking.

(please read the whole story of the temptation of
Jesus, Matthew 4:1-10)

“If thou be the Son of God, command
that these stones be made bread.”
“If thou be the Son of God,
cast thyself down:”
“And saith unto him, All these things will l
give thee, if thou wilt fall down and worship me.” (If Satan believing
that or knowing or having it declared to Him that Jesus was the Son of God
could not have asked this Man to receive that which already belonged to
Him.)

But, the Bible emphatically indicates that GOD(THE
FATHER) CANNOT BE SEEN OR HEARD.
*NO one has ever seen him. And no
one can see him.
(1 Timothy 6:16)
*you have never heard His
voice nor seen His shape. He was speaking to a people who HAD
NEVER…Christ was gone from the earth at this time. Keep the scripture in
context.
(John 5:37) This whole entire passage is written to show
that The Father and The Son have the same will. The same Spirit. />*Now to the king eternal, immortal, invisible, the only
God, be
honor and glory forever and ever. Amen
(1 Timothy 1:17) At this
pointed our Resurrected Lord was acended and at the right hand of God the
Father…unseen by men.
Additionally, before l conclude this
section, let me ask: During Jesus` life on earth
Didn`t his family,
people, and followers see and hear him? OF COURSE
Therefore,
according to the description of God in the above verses, Jesus cannot
be
God. Isn`t this reasonable and logical? Without all the pertinent
information it would seem so but there holes in this particular
logic..incomplete assertations.

So, what is truth? Think about
it!
# Are God the father, God the son, and God the Holy Spirit
EQUAL?
#Is God the son (Jesus) EQUAL with God the father?
#Is
God the son (Jesus) EQUAL with God the Holy Spirit?

Yes. />Let us see what Jesus himself says:
*My father is greater than l
(Jesus)
(John 14:28)
*My father, who gave them to me, is greater
than all.
(John 10:29)
*What l teach is not my own teaching, but
it comes from God,
who sent me.
(John 5:30)
*l can of my
own self do nothing: as l hear,
l judge: and my judgment is just;
because l seek
Not my own will, but the will of the father who has/>Sent me.
(John 5:30)
* No one knows, however, when that day or
hour will
come neither the angels in heaven, nor the son; only the/>Father Knows.
(mark 13:32)
*Anyone who says something against
the son of man
can be forgiven, but whoever says something against/>the Holy Spirit will not be forgiven-now or ever.
(Matthew
12:32)

Jesus had the privileges and prerogatives of God.
(John 1:1, Micah 5:2)
He thought equality with God not a thing to be
grasped while the world was lost, so He voluntarily left heaven to become
a man. He dwelt in human flesh, fought temptation’s battles as we fight
them, and overcame in our behalf (Phil 2:5-11, Heb 2:14,17)
/>After reading these clear-cut statements as well as many others/>Spoken by Jesus himself, what can we conclude?
Based on Jesus`
honest and frank testimony that the only true God (the Father)
Is
greater than him and greater than the Holy Spirit, that what he teaches is
not his,
That he and Holy Spirit know nothing about the last day, and
that he can do nothing of himself, A sincere seeker of the truth should
accept what Jesus says about himself and not make Him God or the equal of
God! Not while on this earth…no..that was not His purpose in coming
here.
Let me discuss another significant question.
#Is Jesus
the only son of God? Yes the only BEGOTTEN Son of God!

can’t continue in answer tonight…too much information for now..l will
continue though l hear from you. Please email me if you have any
questions…I’ll try to break the rest of this down as best l can…all
l can say though is…the Pamphlet that you have read where this excerpt
came from..is very misleading…valid questions all of them and well
thought out..but all those questions come from scripture and are tried and
addressed on “human” reasoning and thought…theto Bible questions are
in the BIBLE! Scripture..word of God?

I agree with at least the first half, stopped reading after that. I

explained the same passage once before.

Above me, to love God is to accept His son as ur Savior. And, loving God
is the greater of the two commandments you listed in verse 27. There is
none that can keep even these two commandments perfectly, & perfection is
required to enter Heaven without Jesus.

but the meaning of luke, you got wrong:

25On one occasion an expert in the law stood up to test Jesus.
''Teacher,'' he asked, ''what must I do to inherit eternal life?''

26''What is written in the Law?'' he replied. ''How do you read it?''

27He answered: '' 'Love the Lord ur God with all ur heart & with all ur
soul & with all ur strength & with all ur mind'[a]; and, 'Love ur neighbor
as yourself.'[b]''

28''You have answered correctly,'' Jesus replied. ''Do this & you will
live.''

29But he wanted to justify himself, so he asked Jesus, ''And who is my
neighbor?''

30In reply Jesus said: ''A man was going down from Jerusalem to Jericho,
when he fell into the hands of robbers. They stripped him of his clothes,
beat him & went away, leaving him half dead. 31A priest happened to be
going down the same road, & when he saw the man, he passed by on the other
side. 32So too, a Levite, when he came to the place & saw him, passed by on
the other side. 33But a Samaritan, as he traveled, came where the man was;
& when he saw him, he took pity on him. 34He went to him & bandaged his
wounds, pouring on oil & wine. Then he put the man on his own donkey, took
him to an inn & took care of him. 35The next day he took out two silver
coins[c] & gave them to the innkeeper. 'Look after him,' he said, 'and
when I return, I will reimburse you for any extra expense you may have.'

36''Which of these three do you think was a neighbor to the man who fell
into the hands of robbers?''

37The expert in the law replied, ''The one who had mercy on him.''
Jesus told him, ''Go & do likewise.''

*********
what does this mean?
anyone who loves their neighbor (in action) & themselves, & god.goes to
heaven. that is SUCH GOOD NEWS!
you might even call it the, um, GOSPEL

all one need do is love. the beatles got it right (in theory)
